Elon Musk is thinking to Launch ‘X Phone’ with Samsung? willing to be an iPhone Competitor

Elon Musk is thinking of teaming up with Samsung to start an ‘X Phone’ to take on the iPhone. He’s called Apple’s alliance with OpenAI an “unacceptable security breach” and says Apple is putting user security at risk.

Musk openly dislike of Apple’s recent partnership with OpenAI and has even threatened to ban Apple devices from his companies, including Tesla, Starlink, and SpaceX. Then it got worse when he hinted at a Samsung partnership to launch an ‘X Phone.’

Apple announced at WWDC 2024 that they would be integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT into iPhones and other devices through software updates. Musk responded strongly saying Apple’s use of OpenAI puts user security at risk. He thinks Apple should develop its own AI instead of relying on OpenAI.

Apple announced this at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where it unveiled “Apple Intelligence,” along with on-device generative AI capabilities The company also unveiled plans to integrate GPT-4 with Siri to enhance the chatbot experience on iPhones, iPads and Macs.

Musk said X (formerly Twitter) and Samsung could team up on an X-branded phone. A user tweeted about an X Phone with an open-source OS to protect user privacy and Musk replied, “Not out of the question.”

Musk’s main problem with Apple’s OpenAI partnership is security and privacy. He says Apple is “selling users down the river” by handing over their data to OpenAI. He even says visitors should check their Apple devices at the door and they’ll be stored in a Faraday cage to prevent communication.

More Than That,
This is more of Musk’s overall worries about AI, data privacy, and his competitive position in the AI space. X AI is gaining traction and this is all part of the ongoing AI wars and power struggles in the tech industry.
